Probably between 25 and 50% of the times I build my solution, I see this:

I hate this window in ways I can&#39;t describe. It never resolves, the Cancel button is never enabled, and the only way to remedy it is to kill the devenv process and load up my entire solution again, knowing full well that I&#39;ve fixed nothing and I&#39;m equally liable to see the same thing when I attempt my build.

My solution is about 60 projects in total, which are mostly C# class libraries, with a few each of web applications, web services, and console applications. However, the problem persists even when building one slice of the codebase with the majority (50) of the projects unloaded.

My problem is that the output windows doesn&#39;t tell me anything at the point at which it freezes, and I don&#39;t know how else to determine the cause of this lockup. If I were to guess, I would assume that it&#39;s a deadlock in the filesystem or something, but I don&#39;t know how to go about proving this--much less how to prevent it.

What can I do to diagnose and eliminate this from my solution so that I never see it again? In general, how can I diagnose problems that occur during a build?

Visual Studio hangs constantly during build

I am trying to use forward declarations in header files to reduce the number of `#include` used and hence reduce dependencies when users include my header file.

However, I am unable to forward declare where namespaces are used.  See example below.

I&#39;m getting an error from lipo and I&#39;d like to see all the steps leading up to it.

The xcode UI is only showing me the errors themselves. Is this located as a text file or can xcode 5 show the complete log some how?

I&#39;m trying to set a tintColor on my UIRefreshControl (building on iOS 7).
I enabled refreshing for the tableViewController in storyboard, then in my ViewController `viewDidLoad` method i did the following:

    [self.refreshControl setTintColor:[UIColor redColor]];

So now, when I pull to refresh, the color of the refresh control is red indeed:

I want my view to update automatically when it appears, so I did:

    - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated{
        [self.refreshControl beginRefreshing];
    }

It didn&#39;t show the spinning wheel, according to https://stackoverflow.com/a/16250679/1809736, I added

    [self.tableView setContentOffset:CGPointMake(0, -self.refreshControl.frame.size.height) animated:NO];

to force show it.
It shows it, but now it is back to default color:

 If I try manually to pull to refresh afterwards, it is red.

I tried building it on iOS6 and it works as it should, so is that an iOS7 bug?

P.S.: it is not a problem with the simulator, I tried building it on device, same bug.

iOS 7 UIRefreshControl tintColor not working for beginRefreshing

In iOS 7, we can now add a constraint between a view and the top layout guide, which I think is very useful to solve the status bar offset issue in iOS7(especially when there is no navigation bar in the view).

In a storyboard file, I can add this kind of constraints easily. Just hold the control key then drag the view to the container, it will show the &quot;Top Space to Top Layout Guide&quot; option.

But when I do the same operation in a xib file, this option disappears.

So, is there any way to add this kind of constraints in xib files? Or do I have to add them with code?

Some days ago I installed Xcode 5. Today I&#39;m trying to submit an app, but during validation I&#39;m getting this issue: &quot;The network connection was lost&quot;. I&#39;ve never had any problem with Xcode 4.

My network is OK and I&#39;m not using any proxy.

I am using Xcode 5&#39;s Asset Catalog, and I would like to use my `LaunchImage` as the background image of my home view (a pretty common practice to make the transition from &#39;loading&#39; to &#39;loaded&#39; look smooth).

I would like to use the same entry in the Asset Catalog to save space and not have to replicate the image in two different Image Sets.

However, calling:

    UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@&quot;LaunchImage&quot;]; //returns nil

I&#39;m using storyboards for my UI. I was previously using XCode 4.6 and released on iOS 6. I have since updated to iOS 7 using XCode 5 and updated the Storyboard to work nicely with XCode 5. I have one issue though:

`UITextView` doesn&#39;t want to display font changes within code. Text colour changes work fine. Any other property changes are fine. Font, not at all. I was using a custom font, so I checked different fonts with different sizes (i.e. `systemFontOfSize:`) but that didn&#39;t work. The text view *only* shows the font that&#39;s set in the Storyboard. What could I be missing here? Are there any auto-layout constraints that mess with this sort of thing? I had a few issues with constraints during the migration, but as I said, the fonts work fine in iOS 7.

I guess it&#39;s something in the Storyboard that I&#39;m missing, as if I create a `UIViewController` and add a text view in code, it works fine.

I&#39;d put up some code, but I&#39;m not sure it&#39;d help at all in this case.

UITextView - setting font not working with iOS 6 on XCode 5

In my iPhone application built with Xcode 5 for iOS 7 I set `UIViewControllerBasedStatusBarAppearance=YES` in `info.plist`, and in my `ViewController` I have this code:

    -(UIStatusBarStyle) preferredStatusBarStyle
    {
        return UIStatusBarStyleLightContent;
    }

But the status bar is still black against the black background. 

I know its possible to change this app-wide by setting `UIViewControllerBasedStatusBarAppearance=NO` in `info.plist`, but I actually need to alter this on a `viewController` by `viewController` basis at runtime.

UIStatusBarStyle PreferredStatusBarStyle does not work on iOS 7

I&#39;ve edited the app name out. Other than that the dialog is exactly like this.
I&#39;m developing an enterprise app and I&#39;ve tried restarting xcode and the iPhone I&#39;m developing on. 
No change. Anyone encountered this? Are there any log posts that could point me in the right direction or get me more details. There is nothing in the regular log from what I can see.

Found this in the device log:

``&lt;Warning&gt;: Unable to launch com.bundleID.etc because it has an invalid code signature, inadequate entitlements or its profile has not been explicitly trusted by the user.``

Which is a bit weird since it worked yesterday and all profiles etc. were issued a week ago.

I need to replace `NSLog` with `DDLogVerbose` in all files in the current project I am working on… What is an easy method to do this? (the search navigator only has search in it).

Also I need to add a line at the beginning of all .m files. How is this done quickly? (There are over 500 such files.)
